Round-table sessions about IP rights as part of innovative process held in BIH

A series of three Round-table sessions titled “Role and Importance of IP in the performance management of innovation in universities, research institutes and companies” have been organized during March 2015. within the project “Strengthen the information and educational function of the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

The objective of this round tables is to improve cooperation with universities, scientific institutes and associations of manufactures for preparation of a training programme plan for these institutions. Goal was to better define and understand the current state of affairs and needs of scientific institutions in terms of IP rights as part of innovative process in the universities and to offer by the project activity, possible adequate answers and proposals to these questions.

Participants of the sessions held in Mostar, Zenica and Banja Luka were professors and researchers from technical universities and in the research entieties. Seasions have been facilitated by the project’s Team leader, dr. Alexandru Cristian Strenc and Key Expert Arife Yilmaz.

The approach on the content of each of these events started from the presumption that in order to stimulate the opinions and intended dialogue, the audience needs to be guided into some important and general aspects of the problematic which was the objective of the roundtable sessions. In this respect, during a short introductory presentation have been exposed main and characteristic problems in IP management. Intention was just to raise a list of problems with possible approaches valid at European and international level and not to give answers. Based on this general situation, the audience was invited to raise its specific problems and questions. At the end, TAT offered preliminary considerations on further developments.
