Employer Survey 2014 underway in Serbia

Employer Survey 2014 underway in Serbia

Category: News

As of April 1st, the National Employment Service of Serbia (NES) has initiated the implementation of the ‘Employer Survey 2014’ based on the needs and forecasted trends in the job market. The survey will cover approximately 7,300 employers – 5,000 small, 1,700 medium and 600 large enterprises. It represents the most important research of this type in Serbia, having in mind that it covers employers who employ large numbers of workers. This year’s survey is the fourth implemented by the National Employment Service of Serbia, and the second supported by the project “Support to Evidence-based Employment Policy Creation”.

Interviewers from the NES will interview employers throughout Serbia on employment plans, as well as the necessary skills and knowledge that a potential employee should possess. The National Employment Service, as a mediator for employment and the main institution in the field of labor market, is particularly interested in its development and improvement and is confident that this survey will contribute to the overall perception of the labor market.  Information will be collected directly from the employers regarding previous employment, experience with employment opportunities, future plans and needs, and therefore the most important issues related to the workforce in Serbia.

The information provided by employers will be of great interest for the following:

  • Planning of active employment measures of the NES;
  • Development of local action plans for employment;
  • The development of future projects financed by the EU IPA Programme;
  • Harmonization of the education system with the needs of the labor market;
  • Informing employers about the availability of staff in Serbia.

The project is funded by the European Union through the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Serbia, and implemented by the European Consulting Group in consortium with companies Pole Emploi, EPRD and FREN. Beneficiaries of the project include the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the National Employment Service. The implementation phase of the project commenced in September of 2012 and will last until September of 2014.
