ECG has recently been awarded with the EU-funded projects ‘Supervision of construction of Subotica and Kalenic regional waste management centres’ and ‘Capacity building for development of the National Animal Disease Compensation fund and other services’ in the Republic of Serbia.

The purpose of the EU-funded project ‘Supervision of construction of Subotica and Kalenic regional waste management centres’ is to provide technical assistance and supervision services for the construction of regional waste management centres for Subotica and Kolubara waste management regions. Supervision is to be provided for the construction of central landfill body, transfer stations, waste separation plant, composting plant, roads, plateau and surface water collection, wastewater treatment, and for purchasing of necessary mobile equipment for the efficient performance of the regional waste management centers (RWMCs). The contract aims towards putting in place reliable and sustainable waste management systems and ensuring their effective functioning. The project is funded by the EU with 1,200,000 Eur and ECG forms part of a Consortium led by Consulgal from Portugal, alongside partners Louis Berger from France and Idom from Spain.

The EU-funded project ‘Capacity building for development of the National Animal Disease Compensation fund and other services’ will assist in further strengthening of the National Veterinary Authority (Veterinary Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management) in protection of animal health while ensuring animal welfare, food safety and sustainable development of the agriculture sector. The project includes updating or preparation of the plans or legislative acts associated to combating of the specific animal diseases, development of the national animal disease compensation plan and scheme (fund), and the associated training of the Beneficiary staff and stakeholders. The project is funded by the EU with 1,000,000 Eur, and will be implemented by the ECG-led Consortium alongside partners Tragsa from Spain, IAK from Germany, and Ankey from Turkey.
