Project description: The overall objective is to support the modernization and development of a sustainable Public Health System (PHS) that is able to ensure disease prevention and control standards in line with EU legislation, requirements and practices. The purposes of this contract are to support the consolidation and empowerment of the newly created Public Health Centre of Ukraine (UPHC) and to support the creation of a modern Blood Safety System in Ukraine.

Position: Key Expert 2: Senior Expert on Blood Safety System (600 working days)

Qualification and skills

• At least Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in public health or related field;

General professional experience

• Between 12 and 20 years of professional experience in Blood Safety Systems institutions (competent authorities and/or service providers);
• Professional experience in Blood Safety System development in post-soviet countries would be an asset;

Specific professional experience

• Between 3 and 5 years of health area related international experience abroad (i.e. not in the country of residence);
• Between 3 and 5 years of professional managerial experience in Blood Safety Systems establishments;
• Proven experience in drafting policy and legal documents;
• Proven experience in the transposition of EU Directives related to public health would be an asset;
