Project description: The overall objective of the project is that the Serbian administration effectively conducts accession negotiations and successfully manages overall EU integration and pre-accession assistance geared towards EU membership. The purpose of this contract is to achieve a high level of effective alignment of national legislation with the Union acquis and its implementation

Position: Key expert 2: Senior legal expert (minimum 570 working days)

Based in Belgrade, Key Expert 2 will provide support to the Team Leader in the overall implementation of the project. The Legal Expert shall, in the absence of the Team Leader, be in charge of contacts and communication with the Contracting authority and for communication and negotiation with all key experts.
The legal expert will be responsible for the preparation of the project action plan and its regular revision and update. The KE2 will be working closely with KE1.

Qualification and skills

• A university degree (where a university degree has been awarded on completion of minimum three years study in a university) in law;

General professional experience

• Minimum 8 (eight) preferably 10 (ten) years of postgraduate experience with harmonisation of legislation with the Union acquis;

Specific professional experience

• Minimum 5 (five) preferably 8 (eight) years of experience in drafting of legislation in an EU Member State or candidate/ potential candidate country;
• Minimum 1 (one), preferably 3(three) years of experience with the EU accession negotiations through participation in negotiating structure or donor-funded projects related to accession process will be an advantage;
• Knowledge of legal system of Republic of Serbia and its institutional framework will be considered as an advantage
