Senior Business Development Manager

Scope of work, authorizations and responsibilities:

Strategy and business planning:
Heads the business development operational group, consisting of junior business development managers, as well as business development department assistants. Identifies and defines business possibilities with the objective of improving the Company business capacitates, in consultation with the Company Director. Participates in the establishment of annual objectives, and measurable indicators of their achievement. Establishes strategic and confidential cooperation with partners, and plans a number of joint business endeavours with them.

Management of the bidding process:|
Independently prepares high-value tender offers and continuously monitors the work of other business development team members, with regards to their activity in tender preparation. Negotiates and concludes preliminary cooperation agreements with partner organizations. Performs control and provides guidelines to other business development team members in the same domain. Identifies, selects and recruits key experts for teams presented by the Company within its technical offers, with most focus on the quality of expertise and personality profiles of potential project team leaders. Maintains a broad network of contacts within the expert community, as well as among other specialized companies, with the objective of securing quality project cooperation.

Finances:
Conducts the preparation of project budget, analyses their structure and profitability, controls the preparation of budgets within own operational group.

Teamwork:
Actively maintains constructive cooperation with all team members within the Department, keeping in mind the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives and continuous improvement of services, knowledge and skills within the Company. Actively works on development of team spirit and strengthening the idea of joint interest within the team, Department and the entire Company. Acts as a mentor when working with colleagues who are junior in rank and experience.

Knowledge sharing:
Initiates and participates in horizontal exchange of experience, knowledge and skills among business development team members. Together with colleagues from other departments, and with the Senior Administration, Human Resources and Quality Manager, proposes to the director personal development programs through internal and external training programs, keeping in mind the building of competences of all team members, including adequate communication with colleagues from the Implementation Department, and wider.  Provides necessary support, and practices mentorship approach when working with junior colleagues. Controls the application of training plan envisaged for new members of the operational group.

Quality:
Actively participates in improving the work quality through suggestion of improvements to operating procedures. Organizes and conducts improvement of procedures in coordination with the Senior Administration, Human resources and Quality Manager. Pinpoints weaknesses within the team and department which affect the efficiency and quality of work. Organizes quality control for each expression of interest and tender. Organizes adequate handover of tenders won to the colleagues from the Implementation Department, according to the procedures.

PR:
Participates in major events, within own interest areas, promoting the activities and mission of the Company, and all in other key events that are directly or indirectly related to the projects in current or prospective project portfolio. Submits texts and information for the Company brochure, periodicals and the web platforms of the Company. Independently represents the company in expert consultations and conferences, in coordination with the Company Director.
Performs other duties upon request of the Company Director, to whom he is directly responsible.

Education:
University degree with adequate qualification in the field of PCM (Prince II, PMP, or relevant MBA degree).

Work experience:
Minimum five years of relevant working experience in the field of independent tender preparation and acquisition of projects funded by Europe Aid of similar sources of funding.

Special conditions:
Fluent in English language, knowledge of another major language is an advantage. Use of a personal computer, with excellent knowledge of MS Office tools, good analytical and communication skills.
