OBJECTIVE, PURPOSE & EXPECTED RESULTS

Overall objective

The overall objective, in accordance with the INSC Multi Annual Indicative programme 2014-17, is the promotion of an effective nuclear safety culture and implementation of the highest nuclear safety and radiation protection standards, and continuous improvement of nuclear safety.
The specific objective is to strengthen the capabilities of Serbia in the fields of nuclear and radiation safety and safe management of radioactive waste.

Purpose

The purposes of this project are as follows:

  • Achieve further transposition of EU acquis in the field of radiation protection and nuclear safety into the national legislation of Serbia;
  • Contribute to the further development of the nuclear regulatory body (SRBATOM) through the provision of assistance in regulating radiation protection, nuclear safety and radioactive waste management;
  • Provide assistance in decommissioning selected facilities at the Vinča site.

Key experts have a crucial role in implementing the contract.
|All experts must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities they take on.

Key expert 1: Team Leader

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree in natural sciences, engineering or directly related disciplines;
  • Very good command of spoken and written English.
  • Command of the Serbian language will be considered as an asset.

General professional experience

  • At least 10 years of relevant industrial or regulatory experience in management and implementation of international programmes or in management of projects for decommissioning of nuclear facilities;
  • At least a 10-year experience in management of international projects, covering at least 3 of the 5 following tasks:
    (a) supervision and coordination of all technical projects aspects, (b) interaction and working of multi-cultural project teams, (c) organization and control of contract, (d) administrative and logistic issues and support, (e) provision of effective communication with all project stakeholders at all levels.

Specific professional experience

  • Leadership of at least two successful international projects (i.e. projects implemented outside the experts’ home country) directly related to decommissioning of nuclear facilities or radioactive waste management.
