Project description: The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is as follows: promoting an effective nuclear safety culture and implementation of the highest nuclear safety and radiation protection standards, and continuous improvement of nuclear safety, in accordance with the INSC Multi Annual Indicative programme 2018-2020.
The objective is supported by strengthening the capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fields of radioactive waste management, nuclear and radiation safety, either by ensuring that the present RAW storage facilities are properly licensed or by finding another appropriate solution.

The purposes of this contract are as follows:
• Supporting the licensing process of the radioactive waste storage facilities;
• Review of the two options (new facility vs existing one) by SRARNS to support the decision making process on a central radioactive waste management facility;
• Regulatory training and capacity building in radioactive waste management;
• Limited consultancy assistance on specific radiation safety issues.

Position: Key expert 3, Expert on nuclear regulations and licensing of nuclear facilities

Qualification and skills

  • University degree in natural sciences, engineering, nuclear law or equivalent;
  • Good command of spoken and written English. Command of the one of the official languages in Bosnia and Herzegovina is considered as an asset.

General professional experience

  • At least 7 years of experience in the field of nuclear regulations;
  • Experience in at least one international project in related fields;
  • Working experience in Western Balkan countries is considered as an asset.

Specific professional experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in licencing activities of radioactive waste storage facilities.
