Project description:

The overall objective of the contract is to support the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations in raising public awareness and in promoting an informed public debate about the EU enlargement and neighbourhood policies.

The purpose of the contract is to provide content and logistics support to the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations to pursue the following specific objectives:

  • to increase the public knowledge and understanding of the EU accession process and the neighbourhood policy priorities, including the countries involved;
  • to stimulate a public debate among the target audiences about the policy related developments;
  • to inform the target audiences about the objectives and the impact of the EU pre-accession funds and neighbourhood policy instrument;
  • to contribute to addressing relevant issues related to disinformation, inter alia by raising awareness for disinformation activities in the regions concerned.

Position: Key expert 3 – Event manager (minimum 110 working days)

Responsible for the implementation of Component 2 ‘Events’ under the strategic and creative lead of Key Expert 2, supervision by Key Expert 1, and with support of a team of non-key experts.

Qualification and skills

  • university (or equivalent) degree or 5 years of professional experience in at least one of the following fields: media, communication, marketing or advertising (these 5 years are in addition to those required under ‘general professional experience’);
  • fluency in English and working knowledge of French.

General professional experience

  • preferably 10 years but a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in at least one of the following fields: media, communication, marketing or advertising.

Specific professional experience

  • preferably 6 years but a minimum of 3 years of professional experience as communication events manager;
  • professional experience in managing preferably 10 but at least 5 communication events for at least 300 participants each;
  • specific experience in communication events on EU policies and programmes is an asset, notably in the field of the enlargement and neighbourhood policies;
  • specific experience in communication events targeting audiences in the enlargement and/or neighbourhood region is an asset.
