Project description: The overall objective of the project is to increase the effectiveness of the Beneficiary country’s preparation for EU accession in area of nature protection. The purpose of this contract is to assist the Beneficiary country to carry out the preparation of establishment of Natura 2000 network.

Position: Key expert 4: Legal Expert (minimum of 30 working days)

The Legal Expert should be specialist in EU environmental legislation with proven knowledge in EU nature protection legislation. Legal Expert will provide an expert input and be responsible for all the activities related to Result 1 Tasks: Harmonisation of the national legislation with EU nature protection legislation. He/she will also provide expert input in the Result 4 Tasks: Strengthening the administrative capacity for implementation of nature protection legislation.

Qualification and skills

• Minimum bachelor’s degree (awarded on completion of 3 (three) years of study in university) in law;

General professional experience

• Minimum 5 (five), preferably 8 (eight) years of general professional experience in EU environmental legislation;

Specific professional experience

• Experience as legal expert in at least 1 (one), preferably 3 (three) projects related with providing technical assistance to the competent authorities in harmonisation of national legislation for nature protection with the EU nature protection acquis;
• Experience in EU accession countries will be considered a value-added.
